LISTEN TO A RADIO BROADCAST ABOUT THE SHOW “IN A SMALL CINEMA”:

What an evening it was, what an evening! What a night it will be! A sleepless night, because the heart is still pounding, hormones are raging… Three beautiful women from the Les Femmes ensemble took us to their bedroom to sing film hits from almost a century ago, almost in lingerie! Add to that handsome gentlemen from the Ignacy Wiśniewski Jazz Band playing real music… something for everyone. It was marvelous, the Artists’ voices were pure and strong. The repertoire seemed to be from the ‘Small Cinema,’ but how unexpected it was! The musical arrangement was non-classical, giving ample space for jazz musicians and the Artists’ vocal skills. And those acting skills praised backstage, yes – it was a performance, so much was happening on stage… of course with taste, propriety, and a little spice. Three ladies from the early years of the past century, bursting with ideas for dreams and fantasies for life…

It has been a few years since the premiere of our show In a Small Cinema, which was based on the wonderful texts and music of the 1920s and 1930s. In the meantime, its heroines have matured a bit, gained their own flavor, style, charm, and chic. They wanted to express themselves in a new way – to push beyond their limits, explore deeper, dive into the unknown, and immerse themselves in their own musical imagination…

In a Small Cinema is a meeting of crazy and sensitive girls from a girls’ boarding school with charming boys from across the big water. Polish girls in New Orleans? Or New Orleans with Polish girls? Who visited whom? Come to the little room in the boarding school!
