Polish Landscape

Performance from 2016
Three women meet together somewhere in the outdoors of Polish landscape. Each of them embodies an individual, different view of reality, determined by their characters and different life circumstances. Their innocence and serenity end with the upcoming experiences of partitions, war, and eventually, communism. Living a life of constant restrictions and waiting, they try to tame their loneliness, fear, and doubts. The longed-for freedom is expressed in their quiet struggle to keep faith in their own dreams…
Polish Landscape is a musical performance to the songs of Polish composers. It consists of autonomous, poetic scenes from the lives of women of the late 19th century, in which one can recognise challenges the contemporary women are facing. Owing to the costumes prepared by Dorota Roqueplo, scenography, multimedia – and especially – the moving music of outstanding artists of the last 150 years, the performance is characterised by strong emotions, and at the same time, it provides a positive and original message.
